Many DMV Fees to Increase in Florida

Effective September 1, a number of driver licensing and motor vehicle services fees will change. Some increases are significant. Below are the increased fees associated with record access.
Driving Records - Fees are increasing for both the electronic and non-electronic versions. For non-electronic, the fee for a 3-year driver history increases from $2.10 to $8.00 and the fee for a 7-year or certified or complete record increases from $3.10 to $10.00. In general for electronic accessed records, the fee for a 3-year record increases from $3.05 to $8.05, and the fee for a 7-year record increases from $3.05 to $10.05. Note that online requesters are directed to a "Network Provider" who are ongoing requesters with 5,000 or more records per month. Service fees will vary by provider.
Crash Reports - The fee for a crash or accident report increases from $2.00 to $10.00. the fee for a homicide-involved crash report remains the same at $25.00.
Vehicle Records - The Florida Real Time Vehicle Info System fee increases from $.50 to $1.25 per inquiry.
 
Note that the vehicle registration fees will increase approximately 30% overall as well. A complete list of all fee increases, showing both old and new fees, is found at www.flhsmv.gov/MotoristFees.htm
 

Changes at California Courts

A number of statewide changes were recently instituted by the Judicial Council of California.
Document Certification Fee - Effective July 29, 2009, the fee for certifying a copy of a paper, record, or a proceeding on file increased from $15.00 to $25.00.
Case Filing Fees - Also effective July 29, 2009, the fee for filing most any case in the CA court system increased by $5.00 per filing.
Mandated State Court Business Day Closures - Per the Council, all state courts will be closed on the third Wednesday of each month, from September 2009 through June 2010.

Certain County Courts Relocating
Nodaway County Circuit Court, Missouri - At the end of August, the consolidated court will move from 303 N Market to 305 N Main in Maryville, MO. The ZIP Code and phone numbers will remain the same.
Hancock County Circuit and Chancery Courts, Mississippi - Earlier this month, the Circuit and Chancery Courts of Hancock County Mississippi moved from 3068 Longfellow Dr to 152 Main Street in Bay St. Louis, MS. The ZIP Code and phone numbers remain the same.
Green County Circuit Court, Wisconsin - In September, the Green County Circuit Court will move from 1016 16h Ave to the new Justice Center at 2841 Sixth St. in Monroe, WI. The ZIP Code and phone numbers will remain the same.
 
A side note, we have spotted a small trend from our ongoing research of 8,000+ courts in the U.S, - a suprising number of courts have stopped using a PO Box.
 
San Bernardino Superior Court Looking to Close Redlands Division
The San Bernardino Superior Court recently announced its intention to close the Redlands Division effective October 12, 2009.  
The current plan is to transfer all Probate matters to the Civil Division at 303 W Third Street in San Bernardino and to transfer Traffic matters to the Traffic Court at 351 N Arrowhead also in San Bernardino.

Fee Increases for Alabama Vital Records
Effective October 1, 2009, the fees for copies of vital records will increase from $12.00 to $16.00 per record and from $4.00 to $6.00 for a second copy. Also, the fee for expedited service will increase, from $10.00 to $15.00.
