Hudson County may be the smallest of the 21 counties that compose the state of New Jersey, but don't let that fool you. This little county has big things to offer visitors and residents alike. Hudson County is 46 square miles of peninsula that sits just across the Hudson River from New York.
A place full of history that will help connect you to the past, Hudson County includes the famous Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. Harbor cruises and tours are available for optimum viewing and informative narration of these famous sites. Also included within Hudson County is the city of Hoboken, which is known as the birthplace of Frank Sinatra as well as the sport of baseball. Hoboken is also famous for its cafes, arts festivals, music clubs, restaurants, and boutique shopping. A multitude of opportunities are available to keep one happily entertained.
With Hudson County's close proximity to New York City, surely a person could want for nothing more. The infamous Loew's Jersey Theater is also located within this county's boundaries. The theater dates back to 1929 and shows classic movies and live on-stage shows for the public's viewing pleasure. Museums include the Cultural Thread/Museum of Embroidery and Lace and the Liberty Science Center, just to name two of many.
