Cobb County Information

Cobb County, Georgia, county seat Marietta, enjoys the best of four distinct seasons. While the area does see some extreme temperatures, particularly during the summer, they moderate quickly. Perhaps the best way to see all that Cobb County has to offer is to start with a driving tour of the area. Pick up a Cobb County Historic Driving Tour Brochure, and then select one of the three routes offered to see some of the county's best scenery and most scenic landmarks.

If you would rather plan your own route, there are plenty of things to see and do. Outdoor enthusiasts can hike or bike at Kennesaw Mountain. Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is a Civil War site; to make your day even more memorable, see the mountain on horseback—it's breathtaking. Stone Mountain Park is another great outdoor destination. More structured than Kennesaw Mountain, here you can take a ride on a paddle wheeler; play a round of miniature golf; or for a spectacular view of the entire area by hopping on the sky ride to the top of the mountain.

Cobb County can provide a variety of accommodations. From four-star hotels to RV Parks, there is something for everyone. Once you've settled in, head out for a bite to eat; Cobb County has some of the best barbecued chicken and ribs in the state. For an unusual shopping expedition, try Atlanta Underground—this shopping center is built on three levels in the subway tunnels. Sports fans will want to be sure to stop by Braves Stadium for a tour and to check out the team memorabilia on sale in the gift shop.

Georgia has much to offer, and whether you're planning a visit or a move, you'll want to be sure that Cobb County is on your itinerary.
