Pinellas County Information

Pinellas County is home to sun, fun, and almost one million people. This county is the most densely populated county in Florida. It also includes the cities of St. Petersburg and Clearwater. These two cities alone have enough to keep residents and visitors entertained year round. Of course, its proximity to the coast gives Pinellas County residents and visitors access to the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. Numerous beach and water activities are available, whether you want to spend your day out fishing or simply collecting shells on the beach.

Also, because of Florida's beautiful weather, outdoor farmers markets are hugely popular and offer choices for every appetite. Another great possibility is visiting the Florida Botanical Gardens. The Gardens are located in the city of Largo and includes thirty acres of cultivated gardens and ninety acres of natural landscape. Be sure to check out the gift shop, visitor's center, and take the self-guided walking trail to learn more about the surrounding vegetation. If you are visiting during the holidays, be sure to check out the Botanical Gardens holiday lights.

Finally, if you are looking to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise at the same time, hit the Pinellas Trails. The trails are thirty-four miles long and wind in and out of many downtown areas throughout the county. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail, so it makes for a great place to walk or bike ride.
